Step 1: Choose Your Ledger Device
- Ledger Nano S Plus – Affordable, beginner-friendly
- Ledger Nano X – Bluetooth-enabled, mobile-friendly
Note: Buy only from the official Ledger website or authorized resellers.
Step 2: Unbox and Check
- Ensure the box is sealed and untampered
- Inside the box: Ledger device, USB cable, recovery sheets, and instructions
- Check the device using Ledger Live to confirm it's genuine
Step 3: Install Ledger Live
Ledger Live is the official app for managing your crypto and device.
- Download it from ledger.com/ledger-live
- Install it on Windows, macOS, or Linux
- Connect your Ledger device via USB
Step 4: Set Up Your Device
- Choose "Initialize as new device" or "Restore from recovery phrase"
- Set a secure PIN code
- Write down your 24-word recovery phrase securely – never share it
- Confirm recovery phrase on the device
Step 5: Start Managing Crypto
Using Ledger Live, you can now:
- Install apps for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other coins
- Receive and send crypto securely
- Access staking, buy/sell, and DeFi apps
- Track your portfolio in real-time
